I am a Data Scientist @Moz. I am interested in solving problems related to Natural Language Processing. Specifically, I enjoy working with Topic Modeling, Recommender Systems, Information Extraction, Semantics, and Machine Learning. I love languages - both Natural Languages and Programming languages. I speak English, Hindi and Gujarati fluently and bits of Korean and Spanish. I started out as a Computer Engineer and later I got my Masters and Doctorate in Computer Science from University of Southern California (USC). I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) before I switched over from working on academic to corporate research. Here is some information about my publications and service.
I was the Chair of NAACL-2010 Workshop titled Formalisms and Methodology for Learning by Reading (FAM-LbR), and later the Chair for IJCAI-2011 Workshop on Learning by Reading and its Applications in Intelligent Question-Answering.
In the summer of 2010, interned at the Jeopardy Group at IBM Research (T.J. Watson) Research Center. I was working on answering "how" questions by identifying granularity shifts in textual descriptions.
